GUAAS Asia partners with Royal Aeronautical Society China

Organisers of Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) Asia, Farnborough International, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Royal Aeronautical Society’s China Representative Office (RAeS China) to drive collaboration between the Europe and China Advance Air Mobility (AAM) sector and share global insight at both GUAAS Asia and RAeS China’s Advanced Air Mobility International Conference (AAMIC).

The collaboration between the two organisations and events will see knowledge and opportunities shared from across the region and bring the global AAM community unique access and insight into the pioneering market. Thought leadership shared will cover the latest certification and regulator information, supply chain opportunities of the global manufacturing hubs, the drive required for the future workforce and the regional AAM initiatives already underway.

GUAAS is recognised as one of the leading AAM and eVTOL global business events to attend and the Asia instalment has been developed to connect the GUAAS community with new AAM audiences across the APAC region. As part of the partnership strategy, GUAAS will be hosting a webinar session at the upcoming AAMIC 2023, an annual event organized by the RAeS China, which was the first professional conference primarily focused on the AAM sector with a global outreach in the APAC region. The AAMIC 2023 is co-hosted by the University of Nottingham Ningbo Campus (UNNC) and Beihang University and will be jointly supported by key industry stakeholders in the global AAM ecosystem.

Discussing the partnership, Julian MacCormac, Honorary President of the RAeS China, said: “This exciting new area of aerial mobility has the potential to transform the way we move around cities and urban clusters. Sharing progress and aligning regulation across regions is essential to enabling this. The collaboration between GUAAS Asia and AAMIC 2023 will help create more opportunities to bring together academia, industry and regulators to support development in this field.

Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, added: “Asia has the capability and drive to be at the forefront of the global AAM market, but there needs to be more cooperation between industry leaders and regulators to make this a reality. We are proud to be partnering with RAeS China on GUAAS Asia and AAMIC 2023 to ensure that we provide high-level international thought leadership and promotion to both platforms, acting as a catalyst for collaboration for the APAC region.”

AAMIC 2023 is taking place 28-29 August at Nanyuan Universe Hotel in Ningbo China and GUAAS Asia will follow on 27-28 September 2023 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
