Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit to land in Singapore
Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) is launching its first Asia edition this year, with the first instalment landing in Singapore, 27-28 September 2023.
Launched in 2019 by Farnborough International, organisers of the world-renowned Farnborough International Airshow, GUAAS is recognised as one of the leading AAM and eVTOL global business events to attend, demonstrating year on year the latest developments, expert knowledge, and fast-moving innovations the market has to offer.
The eVTOL sector continues to accelerate, and research shows that Asia has the capability to be at the forefront of this market – potentially overtaking the US and Europe in record breaking growth with flight trials and certification set for 2023 and 2024, all the while being spurred on by the global drive for sustainability in the sector.
GUAAS Asia 2023 will consist of a two-day programme bringing together the Asia Pacific AAM community. Attendees at c-suite level from industry organisations, city officials, key decision makers, regulators, investors and Government will join the debates, discussions and insight in this high-level conference and networking event.
Discussing the launch of GUAAS Asia, Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, said: “We are incredibly excited to take GUAAS international and connect with the global players in advanced air mobility. As one of Asia’s most prestigious megacities and a global hot spot for implementing the premium AAM ecosystem, Singapore was the ideal location for the GUAAS. Working with industry-leading partners, GUAAS Asia is an incredible opportunity for the world of urban and advanced air mobility to come together and spearhead the future of flight.”
For Hon Lung Chu, Head of APAC, Volocopter, GUAAS Asia is coming at a very opportune moment for the industry: “Volocopter is thrilled to see GUAAS expand its presence to Asia - a burgeoning market for urban air mobility. We are honoured to be part of this inaugural Asia edition and look forward to using this exceptional platform to share our journey in launching UAM in Asia with industry peers and partners. We believe that GUAAS will serve as an excellent forum for advancing the future of UAM, and we are excited to contribute to its success.”
While Yun-yuan Tay, Head of Asia-Pacific, Skyports Infrastructure, believes that the Singapore location of the event will have maximum impact for AAM leaders: “The APAC region, and specifically Singapore, has been at the heart of the AAM industry since its inception. It’s here that we built our first prototype vertiport and we continue to view it as an important market. We’re pleased to be part of the launch of GUAAS to bring together leaders from across industry to share ideas and progress.”
